been a while!!

wow, I cant believe how long its been since I last posted!!   Have been doing so much!!!

I started a new job... then left! it didnt turn out as expected!  Had some issues with my son at school and some other family problems!  as well as assessments! : )  

got some great stock the other day from the flower market.  And some pretty feather roses!

Ranunculus are in season; Love them! they are so sweet and have an innocence about them.

My new Prairie couture book came!!!  Its one of my favourites!  

Will make sure i post a bit more ...  have lots to share!

Spring

hello,  finally spring has arrived...
we have still had a lot of rain, but summer will be here before we know it!

I dyed this duvet cover a very light denim blue... perhaps too light, will hav to giv it another quick dip...

Have lots of roses at the moment!  

And stock... was the last miserable bunch of pink left in the market...

and my sister in law gave me this bunch of roses... so pretty!  

I covered an old box to look a bit prettier... really want to do some more!   I also covered a note pad.. but seem to have misplaced it!!

Really love the Creme de menthe rose.. has a pretty vintage look

Have been finding more china...  this little set is from england... although a lot of the writing has worn off

time to get washing!!

Have had many assignments and flower jobs lately... so havent been blogging much or visiting anyone... please accept my apologies... i feel so bad.. Right now i am going to the school to watch my son at sport carnival!  then hoping to spend a lovely afternoon in blogland!!!

just relaxing

good morning!!

I have lately been posting on friday/sat. but didnt manage this weekend! and yesterday was kind of busy too!

I m spending a lovely relaxing day at home today thank heavens!

Winter is almost over! yay!! one second its raining really hard, the next blue skies and sunshine!

this is the view out from my alfresco area; to the bush behind our garden.

We did have a very high , green hedge up to the top of the fence, but my husband chopped it all down to replace it with rosemary.  They have a long way to go!!!

Cant wait for summer then we can get the pool cover off and enjoy the water!

Reading some wedding books for inspiration; we have a wedding to do this weekend.. ! so excited!

I bought a new outdoor rug; it is woven with pale blue leather and some faded silvery leather too.  doesnt show up too well in the pics...

some fabrics to cover my coathangers.... and pretty wildflowers...

I bought a new slipcover for my sofa the other day... the light is always so awful in my sitting room!!!

It was a taupe colour, but i washed it with rit denim blue... just very light.. more of a grey/stone colour now.

angels...

hello,

have you all had a lovely week? Mine was wonderful, some lovely visits with auntie and uncle from england.. Lots of eating out! and a little bit of sunshine!

a little star I made from lace and wire...

just noticed that I have unconsciously bringing little angels into my home, in different ways...

Perhaps thinking of my angel ..  not that I am ever not thinking of him!... 

The new name for my blog is mostly to do with Sam...  I see him sometimes in my dreams!  dreams that I don`t want to ever end!    To be close to him and hold him...    he is only a dream away...   Not in the way i would prefer! but its the closest I can get for the time being!

I do believe that we will one day be reunited..

Arent these Canterbury bells just so pretty!  I havent bought them before but its nice to get something a bit different!

Started making rosettes, planning to do some more this afternoon.  Currently moving my son's bedroom around at his request!  I knew it would turn into a big job and tried to delay as long as possible!  so we are in the middle of going through all the toys. ugh!  not fun!! but has to be done every once in a while!

shabby vignettes on a rainy day!

Hello, friday again; my favourite time of the week!

Made some very lovely finds over the week and enjoying a drizzly, wet day at home, creating little vignettes....

I have been able to pick up lots of pretty little china bowls and dishes... ill definently keep collecting, but its not easy!  

I found the pretty candleabra in a pretty home store the other day.. not old, but has a lovely patina!

My peonies smell amazing! they were discounted and as its cooler right now; they are lasting a lot longer than they do in december!

I purchased this gorgeous little drawer this morning.. I spied it on a vintage homewares page and it finally came up for sale yesterday. I was so worried i would miss it as i had college, but I was first to comment sold.. so it was mine!  a total steal at only fifty five dollars!!!

Love the carved legs with the touches of gold!

You can see from my pics that it is a very dark day! lots of wind and wild wet weather!!!  I must go in a sec to take my son to the dr as he is getting a bit of a chest infection.  hope he doesnt spread it to me, mums need to be healthy and i have had my fair share of being sick this year!

Although I have to dash, I will come back to my blog when i get home; I have decided to make a couple of little changes.  Although i had started my business and registered it etc.  I have been so busy that I havent been able to devote a lot of time to it.  But a friend has asked me to join her business which I am excited about...

She has a really great business mind and a lot of enthusiasm... We are going to make great partners!

So... I was also rethinking my blog...  The vision I had when I started blogging again, has perhaps changed... I have thought of a new name for my blog... Its inspired by my beautiful angel, my son in heaven, Sam...  I think i will need to keep the same url, and i may have changed the header by the time you are here...

Anyways!!!

faux boiserie (and giveaway winner)

So glad its the weekend!

Even though we are still in school holiday mode here, the weekends always seem so much easier and casual!

This is a faux boiserie that I purchased with some of my birthday money!.. really adore it.

I have always had a 'thing' for french boiseries... I saw some amazing, real ones in antique stores in France... but too big to bring back in a suitcase!

I am still enjoying my stock that i bought last week; it is going a long way!

been dyeing some bits and pieces; a very old crotcheted piece that I came accross years ago for a couple of dollars.  Havent decided yet what i will do with it. It is very fragile...

I found lots of pretty china this week; here are just a couple of the dishes... the rest are in the dishwasher!

And a little lustreware vase I found.. so pretty...

Sam's balloon is still flying high!! 

This was the bday cake I made for him..  I actually got the flags and ribbon free a couple of months ago in a magazine.   The cake mould was only five dollars from kmart.  I mixed brown and white sugar to look like sand!

Cheeky Maisy is getting bigger! and my other cat , Weetbix, is getting used to her now.. slowly!

And onto my little giveaway!!! I know I am incredibly late with this!!!  I have had my aunt and uncle over from the UK and its been so crazy busy!!
